Was E3 really just a week ago? IT seems like we've already been waiting always for Fallout 4, Deus Ex, Headmaster of Orion, Shadow Warrior 2—totally the great games unveiled (or at any rate talked about) last workweek.

And now IT's clock time for the long, dried-up summer months when both releases and news laggard to a trickle. Time to…go outside? That's a thing people do in the summer, right?

This week we've got Fallout 4 bartering, The Rock starring in a Violent disorder motion picture, Grand Theft Arthur and more. Hither's your gaming news for the week of June 22.

Caps for sale

If you want to know the exchange rate of bottle caps to dollars, information technology's evidently in the realm of 33:1. Originally this month, Reddit/Imgur member GatorMacheteJr posted he'd sent over 2,000 bottle caps (the currency in Fallout, for those who don't know) to Bethesda's headquarters as a "preorder" for Fallout 4.

It worked. Bethesda and GatorMacheteJr confirmed that since he was the first to do so, he'll be receiving a copy of Side effect 4 at launch. Stress happening "since atomic number 2 was the first to perform so." No, Bethesda doesn't want your college dorm collection of beer bottle caps. Yes, we are every last impressed how much beer you drink.

Also in Fallout 4 tidings: Bethesda clarified this week that "Resolution and FPS are not limited in any way connected the PC" after some earlier rumors it might glucinium capped at 1080p, 30 frames per second. Merely that would be insane! No lame would put a 30 frames-per-second chapiter on a PC game in 2022. OH wait.

This week in "Hollywood tries to understand video games:"

The Uncharted movie lost some other director, either because of a lower budget (as reported past Heroic Hollywood) or because it's going in a new focal point (reported by io9) or because the film is departure in a new direction because it has a frown budget (most likely). There is the slimmest of slim chances this movie doesn't suck.

Even more the absurd: Dwayne "The Rock" "Can you smell what The Stone is cooking?" "I am the best part of every movie I'm in" "That bran-new show Ballers happening HBO is pretty silly/good" Lyndon Johnson is going to star in a film adaptation of Rampage. Yes, the '90s arcade game Violent disorder. Like, the one where a giant wildcat, gorilla, and lounge lizard destroy buildings and eat people. (Thanks, Deadline.)

And you thought Hollywood was all out of ideas.

Fantastic Theft Chester A. Arthur

A newspaper headline I did not expect to interpret this hebdomad: "GTA V remakes the opening of PBS children's show Arthur." So uh…thanks GameSpot for bringing this into my life.

It's all about that E3 wrap-up this week. Oh, and Batman.

• Just in case you missed it, Batman: Arkham Horse discharged this week. It was immediately bombarded with unfavorable reviews on Steam thanks to a 30 frames-per-second cap and resourceless optimization. And then…WB yanked the game. Yes, pulled the game back down off of Steam. Which puts Arkham Horse on a par with Ashes Cricket 2022, the only other game I know of to be pulled from Steam retroactively.
• In more positive news program, the Riley B King's Bespeak bring up looks fantastic.
• Dueling graphics card reviews this week, between AMD's R9 Fury X and the EVGA 980 Ti Superclocked+ .
• Uncomprehensible proscribed on the super-limited Fallout 4 Whip-Son Variant? Keep an eye on Amazon—Bethesda's trying to draw more.
• CryEngine now supports Linux. And, thanks to any technical wizardry, DirectX 11 is coming to Linux excessively.
• The unweathered Call of Duty: Black Ops III looks less like a Black Ops game and more like Advanced Warfare 2. And I'm non too thrilled about that.
• Gearbox's new game Battleborn sure does look a lot suchlike Borderlands.
